Catenda is growing rapidly and is now expanding into the Netherlands. Richard van Ammerzoden takes over the Dutch and Flemish market as our Sales Director in the region. Richard has been in the AEC industry for over 30 years and has worked in several international Building Information Modeling (BIM) software companies. “I started in 1989 selling the first BIM solutions in the AEC market.” says Richard.

The story between Richard and Catenda already started years ago, in 2015, when he was an Account Manager at Brink. Richard worked for 16 years for Brink, the official Catenda reseller in the Netherlands. Now that he has joined Catenda, he will be Catenda’s contact person for Brink, as the two companies continue their business partnership.

Back to 2015, it was the very beginning of Catenda Hub (previously Bimsync) being sold on the market. “There was a growing need for a platform that could help customers share their 3D models and issues in a simple way. Most existing systems were 2D only.” explains Richard.

At that time, 3D solutions and EDM systems were two different products on the market. In recent years, the demand for a common data environment has increased, as it supports both 3D models, EDM and issue management. “Open standards are the key to today’s AEC market. Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) and BIM Collaboration Format (BCF) are already the standard in many countries for collaborating on a project. ” continues Richard.

“Catenda is unique. The Common Data Envrironment (CDE) they created, Catenda Hub (previously Bimsync), is a user-friendly BIM collaboration platform (Building Information Modeling) based on open standards.” says Richard. In addition, Catenda offers its clients the ability to integrate Catenda Hub (previously Bimsync) through APIs, into already existing processes, which is an added value compared to other existing solutions. Richard believes that Catenda will grow rapidly in the coming years and will open more branches in other countries. Catenda will not only grow in the construction sector, but also in the infrastructure market.

Welcome aboard, Richard!
